Abstract

CLIMENT, Graciela Irma. Voces, silencios y gritos: Los significados del embarazo en la adolescencia y los estilos parentales educativos. Rev. argent. sociol. [online]. 2009, vol.7, n.13, pp.186-213. ISSN 1669-3248.

Pregnancy thus acquires different meanings which imply different risks: a project, the reproduction of traditional maternal models, transgression, a response to lack of affection, etc. The most concerning situations are found in careless families: adolescent girls who have been implied in contexts of family and school violence, substance and alcohol abuse, escape from home, criminal activities, abortions, etc. In these cases, pregnancy can be read-heard- as cries from adolescent girls lacking support and affection and should be considered a high priority for public policies and intervention strategies in the areas of health, education and social develop.

Keywords : Adolescent pregnancy; Sexuality; Parental educational styles; Family relationships.
