Resumen
DI MARCO, Graciela. Women's movements in Argentina and the emergence of the feminist people. Aljaba [online]. 2010, vol.14, pp.51-67. ISSN 1669-5704.
This article proposes the analysis about the process of construction of the feminist people, notion that refers to the chain of equivalencies allowed the emergence of a people beyond feminism, but which it is a nodal point. The feminist people opposed to integral Catholicism and aims to a deeper and more democracy secularism. Takes into account the development of the Women movements in Argentina since the return of democracy in 1983, and the position of the institutional Roman Catholic Church regarding the rights of women, with their particular formation in Argentina, where, as in most Latin American countries, exerts dominance and influence over the State, society and culture. Catholic discourse of sexuality is answered in a society declared mostly Catholic, but where the people practice their freedom of conscience and expression outside of any dogmatism. The pueblo feminist is a new articulation of popular identities that are a potential alternative for reflection on contemporary social transformations.
