Resumen

LAGUNAS, Cecilia  y  CIPOLLA, Damián. Áreas of wornen's power in the Kingdom of Castile in the Late Middle Ages. Aljaba [online]. 2011, vol.15, pp.71-85. ISSN 1669-5704.

From 1407 to the death of King Henry III Mourning, his wife Queen Catherine of Lancaster will become, next to the Infante Fernando, in Regents of the Rey-child John II of Castile. Through this regency, the queen mother to develop a policy to secure the kingdom for his son, John II, trying to generate links with the noble lineages "empowered" the kingdom in order to preserve and extend royal authority to his son, These situations are not exempt from the typical conflicts of feudal power and that played Catherine in the politics of the kingdom. Clearly, the role and actions taken by the Queen were in our opinion, very important for the affirmation of the ruling lineage as she was the guardian to the genuine link with Alfonso de Castilla, they are not too many problems addressed by classical historiography. Feminist historiography has provided new interpretive framework that allows us to review the role of medieval queens and we will discuss in this presentation.

Palabras clave : Power feudal; Queens; Late medieval crisis.
