Abstract

BARRIOS, Soledad  and  GUAZZARONI, Vanina. Christine de Pizan and The City of Ladies: women as active legal subject. Aljaba [online]. 2011, vol.15, pp.175-187. ISSN 1669-5704.

In 1405, the accepted historiography assumes that sees the light Le livre de la Cité des Dames, to compose who was already a famous writer in the Court of the Valois, Christine de Pizan, Venetian by birth, French by adoption. This masterpiece that contemporary feminism is considered a milestone of self-expression of thought produced by a woman at the dawn of the Renaissance. In this paper, we propose to investigate the above mentioned book of this celebrated author, three key concepts - in the philosophical thought of the time - as Law, Justice and Power. We stop in the study of the configuration of Justice, Injustice and the concept of Peace, in relation to the Hundred Years War, analyzing the figure model (proposed by the author) of the women as "active legal subject".
