Abstract

JUSTINIANO, María Fernanda. The power of sugar in the Salta's political process at ends of XIX century and the beginnings of the XX century. Rev. Esc. Hist. [online]. 2005, n.4, pp.167-192. ISSN 1669-9041.

This article seeks to observe that although the livestock trade to the Pacific had its relevance and extension, the sugar activity facilitated that a handful of families could monopolize the enormous benefits that provided the fertile lands near to the The Pavas river and the exploited manpower of the groups natives of the Chaco´s region.          It also tries to explain why the absence of the sugar in the historical studies on Salta's Province.
