This work analyses: the general elections of 11 november 1951 in the province of Salta and the role played by the Superior Council of the Peronist Party in the nomination of the candidates, the factious fights within the ruling party and the planning of the electoral campaign to assure its triumph. These elections were the first to be carried out with the application of the new constitutional and legal norms and with the participation of the female vote.
