Abstract

MOYANO, Ricardo Daniel  and  LENIS, María. From national to regional: Entrepreneur speech and sugar industry in the North of Argentina, 1894-1923. Rev. Esc. Hist. [online]. 2007, n.6, pp.279-302. ISSN 1669-9041.

The aim of the article is to analyze the joint of the sugar speech in defense of the activity in two key conjunctures: the debate concerning the customs tariffs of 1894 and the politics of the first government of Yrigoyen in sugar matter. These two moments allow us to warn the passage of a sugar speech that was seeking to highlight the national dimension of the agroindustry to other one who was emphasizing the regional features, identifying the activity with the development of the Northern provinces in its set.
