In this paper, we analyse from the perspective of the court studies the structure, composition and evolution of the different offices that were charged with the conservation and preservation of a singular enclave of royal patrimony, the “Real Sitio Soto de Roma” in the north-western part of the Vega de Granada, focusing approximately on the period between 1560 and 1680. This place, like the other Royal Sites, was created as a hunting territory, although over the decades the focus was placed on the abundancy of black and white poplars. These trees were important because of the elasticity and the resistance of their wood to abrasion, which made it essential for the military industry, especially for the fabrication of pieces necessary to embark artillery, above all naval and in presidios, and for certain naval elements. The existence of this wood not only determinates the evolution of the officials and positions, but also their permanence within the royal patrimony.
