This article intends to reflect on the possibilities and the problems tangled in "making" regional history, considering the difficulties involving the spatial scales that inevitably must be attended in historical research.  It proposes to think of regional history as a practice or a valid historiographical approach to study the dense and conflicting social networks, in its different expressions: economic, social, political and cultural.
