Abstract

The aim of this article is to describe the genesis and the evolution of indicators about Information Society and Technological Innovation among Latin American countries. It reviews the development of innovation surveys and the elaboration of Bogota Manual into the work made by RICYT. Other topic is related to indicators on access and use of ICTs and the contents of Compendium of practices about ICT's questions implementation into households and enterprises surveys edited by CEPAL. Finally, it shows some issues of Lisbon Manual which has tried to put together the demands from science and technology's experts and policies makers about future developments in the area of indicators of Information Society.
