Abstract

GONZALEZ LOPEZ, Manuel. Políticas de innovación y servicios a empresas intensivos en conocimiento: una aproximación general. Rev. iberoam. cienc. tecnol. soc. [online]. 2008, vol.4, n.10, pp.9-18. ISSN 1850-0013.

In this paper we present a general view about the need of incorporating knowledge intensive business services (KIBS) in the innovation policy agenda. We firstly discuss the role of these services as knowledge diffusers in innovation systems. Secondly, the theoretical rationale for a policy that integrates KIBS is argued about. Finally we present some general guidelines for a policy that considers these activities. In this sense the strengthening of the KIBS sector could be particulary interesting in peripheral regions where the existence of a wide and diversified KIBS supply is not usual. By the same token, reinforcing KIBS will be also interesting in order to facilitate the access of SMEs to these specialised services.

Keywords : KIBS; Innovation; Policy.
