This paper is interested in the relation that the French citizens have with the environment, the science and the technology, on the base of the results of the poll Values, conducted by a team of sociologists and political experts assembled in the Association for the Investigation on the Systems of Values. More precisely, we want to know what are the perceptions, opinions and attitudes of the population of the Hexagon on these questions and on the problems that arise from his interactions. Fundamentally, it advances the hypothesis according to which this relation is articulated around three basic ideas: 1) the adherence of the French citizenship to the ecological macro-story, 2) the personal commitment with ecology and 3) the questioning of the legitimacy of science and technology, especially taking into account the environmental consequences of scientific and technological development.
