PLAZA, Luis Manuel y GARCIA-CARPINTERO, Esther. Análisis de la cooperación tecnológica España - Argentina mediante indicadores de patentes. Rev. iberoam. cienc. tecnol. soc. [online]. 2010, vol.6, n.16, pp.201-211. ISSN 1850-0013.
This paper aims to analyze the activities of technological cooperation between Spain and Argentina, focusing on the analysis of Argentina's patents and, among them, those arising from the collaboration with Spain. The framework of this analysis is the broader context of the study of science, technology and innovation policies in both countries, as well as the cooperation ties between them. To this end, we have consulted the databases of the United States Patents & Trademark Office (USPTO) and the European Patent Database (EPO), gathering information for the period 2000-2009. The results of the study reveal that, although there is scientific cooperation between Argentina and Spain, the bilateral activities with possible market projections undertaken in recent years have not resulted in the generation of patents. However, those cooperation ties can be used for future identification of action areas and the implementation of technological and business initiatives of common interest.
