Resumen

BLINDER, Daniel. Missile technology and its dual employments: Politicy aproaches between science and Foreign Affairs in the German V2 and the Argentinean Cóndor II cases. Rev. iberoam. cienc. tecnol. soc. [online]. 2011, vol.6, n.18, pp.9-33. ISSN 1850-0013.

This paper will explore the origins of policy research and development of the missiles V2 and Condor II. The point of comparison is that its emergence, research and development occurred in authoritarian political contexts, both missile programs were attacked by foreign powers, and were attempts to channel technology transfer to countries opposed to its development, although this was successfully achieved only in the case of V2. We will study the political plot for the emergence of the first ballistic missile manufactured by the authoritarian Nazi Germany in the pre-war context of the WWII, and those related to the development of Condor II in the Argentinean military dictatorship called "National Reorganization Process'. In the next stage of this article we specifically analyze the development of the Argentinean case Condor II, addressing technological and political issues that meant the vector of Argentina in the subsequent political contexts to the dictatorship, its influence in foreign affairs from that country regarding technology transfer, pressure from the central countries and the influence on domestic policy making.
