Resumen

ALBORNOZ, Mario. Technological change and institutional culture: the INTA case. Rev. iberoam. cienc. tecnol. soc. [online]. 2015, vol.10, n.29, pp.41-64. ISSN 1850-0013.

Technology (INTA, as per its Spanish acronym) was created in 1956 as part of the policies developed to promote the recovery of agricultural economy, following the recommendations of CEPAL. In this sense, it is a symbol of the vision on the development and the role of technology upheld at the time. Since the beginning INTA has had a dual role expressed in its extension and research. For years, it had been considered a successful organ. However, the change of technological paradigm and the sudden transformations of the economic and political context of the country generated inner tensions and external difficulties and hindered its normal functioning. This paper intends to determine said issues.

Palabras clave : National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA); Technological change; Development and technology.
