This article intends to delve into and organize the contributions in the field of science, technology and society to international dimensions of research in Latin America. To that end, we have worked on three lines. The first one refers to factors that contribute to boosting scientific internationalization in the current context. The second one analyzes the particular characteristics of international dimensions of the three main activities of research: scientific publication, development of research projects and training of human resources. The third line focuses on the role of scientific policies and disciplines in research internationalization. Finally, we present some considerations across the three selected guidelines as criteria to organize the literature analyzed.
