As a way to approach the study of logics and knowledge production methods in Chile, this paper  characterizes the research on educational policy conducted in this country between 2000 and 2011. Through the analysis of content provided by different secondary information sources, it studies differences between the research carried out by the State, the Academia and a mixed model of research production. The results reveal that there are similarities in terms of research methodologies, but there are also major differences in the objects, research objectives and theoretical approaches of both knowledge production logics. Therefore, it follows that these differences might indicate the consolidation and an increasing complexity in the research field of educational policies in Chile.
