DE ARAUJO PEREIRA, Vágner Ricardo  y  MASSAO HAYASHI, Carlos Roberto. Simulated Negotiation Forums In The Teaching Of Engineering: Analysis Of A Teaching Strategy. Rev. iberoam. cienc. tecnol. soc. [online]. 2016, vol.11, n.33, pp.239-265. ISSN 1850-0013.

This article presents the analysis of a teaching strategy called Simulated Negotiation Forum developed with an engineering group from an institution from the inner area of the State of São Paulo. The analysis was conducted based on authors from the STS (science, technology and society) field of studies and on curricular national guidelines for the engineering courses of study. The results indicate that students see simulated negotiation forums as an important strategy for professional training. Its interdisciplinary aspect was prioritized due to the crossing between specific engineering knowledge and other aspects, such as social, cultural and political ones. Moreover, the skills to come up with and present arguments to defend the ideas of a specific player represented by a student in the resulting debate were greatly valued. The opportunity to listen to divergent ideas was also deemed important with the aim of improving the decision- making process in relation to a technological project whose themes, defined for the forums, were characterized by presenting sociotechnical controversies.

Palabras clave : Simulated Negotiation Forum; Science; Technology and society (STS); Engineering teaching.
