SILBERMAN, JUAN EDUARDO; ALBANESI, ADA  e  GRASSO, DANIEL. Manejo de bosques con ganadería integrada: impacto en las comunidades microbianas del suelo. Cienc. suelo [online]. 2016, vol.34, n.2, pp.211-219. ISSN 1850-2067.

In accordance with National Law N° 26.331/07, the objective of forest management integrating cattle (low intensity roller chopping) in the Chaco region of Argentina, is to develop ecological, economic and socially sustainable systems. However, there is little knowledge about the influence of low intensity roller chopping on soil microbial communities. Our aim was to analyze the effect of different tree covers on the structure and function of soil microorganisms in a silvopastoral system from the Chaco region, habilitated by low intensity rolling system, compared with a native undisturbed forest. In the first year, forest management integrating cattle modifies soil microbial communities, demonstrated by the appearance of new microbial groups that show different growing strategies compared with forest microbial communities. Five years after the initial treatment, the microbial composition comprises bacterial groups dominated by r strategists. In addition, tree species influence the composition and function of the soil microbial community. This effect was attributed to differential soil carbon content and to different leave chemical composition of different tree species.
