Resumen

GARCIA, Leticia Soledad et al. Content of trace elements in argiudolls of the Pergamino stream basin under continuous agriculture. Cienc. suelo [online]. 2019, vol.37, n.2, pp.257-268. ISSN 1850-2067.

Fertilizers carry potentially soil contaminating trace elements (TE). The aims of this work were: a) to analyze the concentrations of TE in fertilizers commonly used in Rolling pampas region; b) to examine the TE soil concentrations in the 0-20 cm deep after 25 years of a maize-wheat/soybean (M - W/S) sequence under no tillage, continuously fertilized with nitrogen and phosphorus; c) to explore the contribution of TE by fertilizers used in the sequence; d) to estimate the TE input during 25 years in a sector of the Pergamino stream basin and to compare with soil TE reserves of the 0-5 cm deep; e) to contrast the soil TE reserves with the pollution national guide levels informed for agriculture land-use and f) to perform a simplified TE balance on both sites. In general, phosphorus fertilizers had the highest TE concentrations and they were located at the lower limit of the globally reported intervals. In M-W/S the concentrations of lead, cadmium, copper, zinc and molybdenum of the surface horizon were found in the lower limit of the range of global concentrations while those corresponding to arsenic, vanadium and manganese were close to the average. The proportion of TE accumulated from the contribution of fertilizers in relation to the reserve of TE of horizon A in the sequence M-W/S and with the horizon 0-5 cm in the sector of the basin was very small, although with a very high dispersion in the basin sector. In none of the cases the permissible land limits proposed by the Argentine law on hazardous waste were exceeded.

Palabras clave : heavy metals; fertilizers; no tillage; soil quality.
