   The text discusses how notions of honor, dignity and reciprocity articulate in processes of dispute resolution, focusing in small claims courts. The role of the gift is highlighted in the understanding of disputes whose equation demands the examination of three thematic dimensions: rights, interests and recognition. The latter is associated to the visibility of moral insults, which are characterized as aggressions to rights that are frequently excluded from judicial processes.
