The inquiry object is centered in the experiences and representations of the traders of neighborhood concerning its proper labor activity. For in such a way, we developed a predominantly qualitative research, even so have made use of quantitative data. The objective was to elaborate an ethnography on the commercial activity being thought it stops beyond the economic questions, the first sight marked in this type of social reality. This work understands the action economic as a social action, that is, the actors do not only pursue objective economic, but also social, as the sociability, the recognition, prestige, power... Moreover, the economic actions have motivations varied, since the rationality until the affectivity or the customs. Leaving of these premises, the ethnography can help to understand the reality of the traders and the place of the commerce in the complex society.
