Abstract

En este trabajo analizamos varios rasgos o facetas en tres ciudades metropolitanas mexicanas contemporáneas: la multiculturalidad, la inequidad, la fragmentación social y urbana, la inseguridad pública y los proyectos enfrentados de ciudad. El artículo constituye un balance sobre la situación prevaleciente elaborado a partir de proyectos de investigación de los autores y de la revisión de la literatura reciente sobre el tema. Es por tanto un trabajo de carácter fundamentalmente teórico.
