Abstract

FERNANDEZ ALVAREZ, María Inés. Continuidades y rupturas en el proceso de trabajo: Una mirada antropológica a partir de una experiencia de ocupación/recuperación de fábricas durante el año 2002. Intersecciones antropol. [online]. 2004, n.5, pp.141-151. ISSN 1850-373X.

This article gathers together the partial results of the first stage of an investigation in which the processes of occupation/recovery of factories in the City of Buenos Aires are examined from an ethnographic perspective. I focused, briefly, on the process of "occupation" and "recovery" of one factory in particular, reconstructing certain elements of its history which enabled analysis of continuities and breaches in the process of work. The workers™ account permits us both to reconstruct the previous history of the factory, considering the changes implemented during the 1990s in the organization of work, and to describe the main modifications introduced during management by workers during 2002. These modifications promote a discussion of the separation between conception and execution in the organization of work, which tends to lose its outline, allowing a daily process of decision making and a constant common reflection on production. At the same time it is observed that the new methods of organization of work, characterized as being more horizontal and autonomous, coexisted with elements of the old management methods.

Keywords : Process of work; Collective action; Recovered factories; Self-administration.
