BUC, Natacha e SILVESTRE, Romina. Function and complementary among lithic and bone artefactual assemblages of parana's wetland: anahí, a case study. Intersecciones antropol. [online]. 2006, n.7, pp.129-146. ISSN 1850-373X.
In previous work, functional complementarity between lithic and bone materials for the Lower Paraná wetlands during the late Holocene based on morphological traits was proposed (Loponte y Sacur Silvestre 2002). In this paper, this hypothesis by applying microscopic functional analysis to both types of artefactual assemblage from Anahí archaeological site is evaluated. From a methodological perspective, it is evident that traces in lithic and bone material develop in different ways, implying that a distinct approach is needed for each material. Even so, comparison of the archaeological assemblages enables to discuss the existence of behaviors related to the differential exploitation of lithic and bone materials that may be linked not only to their availability but also to their distinct properties.
