Abstract

BRATICEVIC, Sergio. The role of NGOs indevelopment projects in a frontier Social Formation: The case of the DIRLI program, west formosa. Intersecciones antropol. [online]. 2011, vol.12, n.1, pp.135-146. ISSN 1850-373X.

In this brief article, advances are made in the analysis of the role of NGOs in the social life of the Central Chaco following the transformation of the evangelizing models of the churches (Catholic and Anglican, principally), and the concomitant metamorphosis of the spatial model of the religious missions, centring on the execution of development projects. Taking the example of the DIRLI program (Integrated Development for the Department of Ramón Lista), the ideas that underlie its design within the focused public policies paradigm are discussed, as well as the territorial fragmentation related to its implementation. Finally, reflections on recent territorial demonstrations since the appearance of NGOs and development aid are presented.

Keywords : NGO; Missions; Development; Focalization; Territorial fragmentation.
