ZUBIMENDI, Miguel Ángel  e  MORENO, Julián Eduardo. La presencia de artefactos arqueomalacológicos en la localidad arqueológica Delta del arroyo Vulcana (lago Musters, provincia del Chubut). Intersecciones antropol. [online]. 2014, vol.15, n.1, pp.71-87. ISSN 1850-373X.

In this paper we present various archaeomalacological artifacts recovered from the archaeological locality Delta del arroyo Vulcana, located in the northwestern margin of Lake Musters (Chubut Province). Several artifacts that can be categorized as beads and indeterminate artifacts were recovered in surface and in stratigraphy. Some pieces could be identified at a taxonomic level, corresponding to marine gastropods of the Volutidae family from the Atlantic Ocean, while the remaining parts, due to their degree of taphonomic alteration and human modification, could not be determined. Given the state of knowledge of the archaeomalacological artifacts in Patagonia, the study of these remains improves the knowledge of their role to patagonian inhabitants. In this sense, the results are contextualized and discussed in relation to mobility and the existence of extensive exchange networks in Patagonia. Is highlighted the evidence that establish relationships between Vulcan Delta 1 and other areas of the Patagonian region.
