Resumen
GORDON, Florencia et al. Paleodietas humanas en la costa patagónica durante el Holoceno tardío: Nuevos datos de isótopos estables y fechados radiocarbónicos para la costa centro-sur. Intersecciones antropol. [online]. 2015, vol.16, n.2, pp.327-338. ISSN 1850-373X.
The goal of this paper is to present stable isotope data from collagen (ä13C and ä15N) and radiocarbon dates of a sample of human skeletal remains from the southern coast of Chubut Province. The data are discussed in relation to paleodiets and in the context of previous research and available data for the rest of the Atlantic Coast of Patagonia. The initial expectation was to find diets characterized by mixed consumption of resources (i.e., marine and terrestrial). However, only one case, dated 2531 ± 45 years BP, suggests the consumption of marine resources. The remaining samples show consumption of predominantly terrestrial resources with similar values to those of inland Patagonia. This paper contributes to the discussion of regional human paleodiets among coastal late Holocene hunter-gatherers.
