Our studies about lithic raw materials availability in southernmost Patagonia pursued the aim to assess provisioning and exploitation rock strategies by hunter-gatherer populations during Late Holocene. With this objective we sampled a total of 84 lithic potential sources in the Pali Aike Volcanic Field (PAVF, Santa Cruz Province) and areas nearby. In the present study our goals are threefold: on the one hand, a synthesis of previous petrographic and geochemical studies and their main conclusions are presented. On the other hand, data about lithic raw materials abundance, richness, flaking quality and size of each potential source are integrated in a regional scale. Finally, provisioning distances by sectors are compared and the fit of different spatial models are tested using multiple regression. All these data are used to assess provisioning costs and to discuss hunter-gatherers mobility and landscapeuse in southernmost Patagonia.
