Abstract

PETRUCCI, Natalia S  and  TARRAGO, Myriam. Restos arqueobotánicos del montículo oriental de Rincón Chico 15, Catamarca: Prácticas de consumo y aprovisionamiento. Intersecciones antropol. [online]. 2019, vol.20, n.1, pp.25-38. ISSN 1850-373X.

The Valley of Yocavil or Santa María has been the subject of numerous archaeological investigations for several decades since it constitutes a region of interest in the history of the economic and demographic development of the Argentine Northwest (NOA) and the Southern Andes. Nevertheless, the plant archaeological remains have been poorly studied. An initial attempt carried out at the Rincón Chico 1 site allowed us to define possible spaces where the density and variability of remains, as well as the restricted distribution of grinding artefacts, suggested different activities. The objective of this work is to evaluate the composition and taxonomic richness of a mound structure of the Rincón Chico 15 site as a first approach to vegetable consumption practices, and to continue archaeobotanical studies, in the region.

Keywords : Yocavil valley; Macroremains; Consumption and supply.
