Abstract

SCHOCRON, Luciana; SCHANZ, Sebastián  and  BECK, Edgardo. Cardiac Angiosarcomas: Diagnostic, Prognostic and Therapeutical Implications. Rev. argent. cardiol. [online]. 2007, vol.75, n.4, pp.299-302. ISSN 1850-3748.

Primary heart tumors are a rare entity. Only 10 to 25% of them are malignant and angiosarcoma is the most frequent. They cause a variety of cardiac and systemic symptoms per se, or by compromising other organs, which can simulate other diseases thus delaying the accurate diagnosis. We reported two cases of cardiac angiosarcoma with atypical presentations, thus initially, this disease was not considered as a probable diagnosis. A high degree of clinical suspicion, together with high-resolution imaging methods such as magnetic resonance, are necessary for the right diagnostic approach and adequate treatment.

Keywords : Heart Neoplasms; Hemangiosarcoma.
