SIMIONATO, Claudia et al. TallEx: Experiments with rotating flows in the academic training of meteorologists and oceanographers. Meteorologica [online]. 2009, vol.34, n.2, pp. 39-50. ISSN 1850-468X.

Laboratory experiments are crucial elements in the learning-teaching process of scientific courses. In this work some examples of didactic experiments with fluids under rotation are shown. They were developed with new equipments acquired in the frame of the Laboratory of Geophysical Fluids at the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences of the Faculty Natural and Exact Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires. These experiments illustrate and help to understand the complex physical processes which lie behind theoretical results. Experiments motivate the curiosity of the students, make them ask questions and search for answers. The experiments are also useful to promote our sciences among high school students, a critical issue given the low number of undergraduate students.
