Abstract

GARCIA JIMENEZ, José Ventura. MATH CLASS AND EPISTEMOLOGICAL LABORATORY. Rev. electrón. investig. educ. cienc. [online]. 2016, vol.11, n.2, pp.28-38. ISSN 1850-6666.

In this essay it is proposed to transform the class of mathematics into an epistemological laboratory. This renewal is necessary because the present society poses new challenges for present and future generations. Faced with these needs, prevailing educational practices are outdated; Because students have few opportunities to participate in the construction, invention and discovery of knowledge; Mainly in the learning of mathematics. Mathematics are not juxtaposed disciplines in the academic formation of students; On the contrary, if the teaching and learning of mathematics are transformed into spaces of learning, learners will have more opportunities to understand the functionality of this branch of knowledge.

Keywords : Learning; Teaching; Epistemological dialogue; Imaginary experiments; Epistemological laboratory.
