Abstract

QUINTANILLA GATICA, Mario; LABARRERE SARDUY, Alberto  and  MUNOZ MASSON, Daniel. ¿Qué piensan las educadoras de párvulo en formación (EPF) acerca de la naturaleza de la ciencia?: Algunas aproximaciones iniciales desde sus sistemas de creencias. Rev. electrón. investig. educ. cienc. [online]. 2018, vol.13, n.2, pp.01-11. ISSN 1850-6666.

This article is a product that is part of the research project FONDECYT 1150505, started in 2015, whose purpose is to identify and characterize the notions of science teachers about the nature of the discipline they teach at different levels, such as primary and secondary education. Considering the importance of curricular integration in sciences in the school, we explore the conceptions about the nature of science, which characterizes a sample of 70 Nursery Educators from 3 Chilean universities. For this purpose, a Likert questionnaire was adapted, prepared by the research team (Quintanilla et al., 2006), which explores the concepts: Radical Rationalism (RR) and Moderate Rationalism (RM), whose adjusted ordinal scale allowed us to describe and present the preliminary results obtained, having into account the frequency and percentage levels of acceptance with respect to each school of thought in each university. The results point towards the coexistence of the two visions about the nature of the sciences, although with relative predominance of the RM one.

Keywords : Some Pre-school teaching; Teaching science; Belief systems; Rationalism.
