Abstract

SILVA, Joeliton Chagas  and  TOURINHO E SILVA, Adjane da Costa. A dimensão epistêmica do discurso de um professor de Química no ensino de propriedades coligativas. Rev. electrón. investig. educ. cienc. [online]. 2019, vol.14, n.1, pp.14-29. ISSN 1850-6666.

The paper presents a research that aimed to analyze the contextualization and decontextualization movements, between the empirical and abstract dimensions of chemical knowledge, in the discourse of a teacher in a classroom of the High School, considering the relationship of such movements with the use of semiotic representations. Considering that the dialectical relationship between empiria and theory, as well as the use of representations is constitutive of scientific knowledge, it becomes relevant to verify how these aspects are articulated in the development of the contents by a teacher with his students. The classes of a thematic sequence about colligative properties, recorded in video, were submitted to the analysis throughout Videograph® software, to obtain the percentages of time related to the use of a priori categories. The qualitative dimension of the research was based on the analysis of episode maps and the transcriptions of representative episodes of the evolution of teacher's discursive movement. The results show the ability of the teacher to articulate the discourse that turns to specific phenomena, involving descriptions and explanations, with discurse focused on the generalizations of science. On the other hand, the limited use of iconic models in the abstract dimension of knowledge certainly compromises a more elaborate perception of phenomena by students.

Keywords : Epistemic movements; Semiotic representations; Colligative properties.
