Abstract

SANCHEZ SOTO, Ivan Ramón  and  HERRERA SAN MARTIN, Edith del Carmen. Aprendizaje significativo y desarrollo de competencias científicas en física a través de la Uve Gowin. Rev. electrón. investig. educ. cienc. [online]. 2019, vol.14, n.2, pp.17-28. ISSN 1850-6666.

The research studies the effectiveness of the practical work of Physics by inquiry and modeling with the use of the Uve de Gowin diagram in the level of achievement achieved of scientific competence and in the academic performance of Civil Engineering students. The applied design is quasi-experimental with pre and posttest with two study groups. For this, the construction and validation of the laboratory guides designed to work by inquiry and modeling organized in a manual was carried out previously. The laboratory practice begins with a process of induction to the students of the experimental group in the form of investigating, modeling and constructing the Uve diagram digitally prior to the laboratory sequence programmed for a semester. Its evaluation was carriedout through a rubric that provides evidence of the processes of inquiry and modeling, the major difficulties detected are referred to constructing searchable questions, identifying variables, formulating hypotheses in the problem situation to be solved. The results show improvement of the level of achievement of the scientific competence in the experimental group and in the academic performance show statistically significant changes with respect to the control group. Finally, the students positively value the collaborative work in the investigation and the modeling of situations in the Engineering context.
