This paper introduces iTablero, a multiuser and multi-tutor tool. It is an augmentative communication board designed for users affected by pervasive developmental disorders (PDD). The board was built following the Hypermedia and the Object Oriented Hypermedia Design paradigm (OOHDM) being easily deployable. For the development of the tool, Java, and its associated technologies has been used. The board can run in any device capable of Rich Internet Application (RIA). iTablero and the proposed integration teaching strategies provide to children affected by PDD with a tool to communicate and understand each other, and to help them in developing their potential by teaching them communication techniques that enhance their characteristics, promoting and optimizing the knowledge building.
