Abstract
KRAUS, Germán; FORMICHELLA, María Marta and ALDERETE, María Verónica. Google Classroom use as a complement of face-to-face training for primary school teachers. Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2019, n.24, pp.79-90. ISSN 1851-0086.
This research analyzes the use of Google Classroom as a complement tool based on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in face-to-face training for primary school teachers. The paper is based on a case study research of the primary schools that belong to the Integral Program for Educational Equality (PIIE) in the city of Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The main objective is to determine if the actors linked to the use of the Google Classroom, in PIIE context, perceive it as a virtual training space complementary to face-to-face space. It seeks to know if they consider that it enhances the teaching and learning processes. A mixed strategy is used as methodology which combines a qualitative approach based on semi-structured interviews to trainers in charge of the meetings( the regional coordinator and the federal director of the Educational Innovation and Technology Direction of Buenos Aires); with a quantitative approach, based on surveys to teachers who have attended the training as students. It is concluded that the actors of the PIIE program perceive Google Classroom as an ICT tool that, added to teacher´s capacity and proactivity, can improve teaching and learning processes favoring that they are ubiquitous.
