RECALDE, M. Andrea y PASTOR, Sebastián. Variabilidad y dispersión de los diseños de camélidos en el occidente de Córdoba (Argentina): Circulación de información, reproducción social y construcciones territoriales prehispánicas. Comechingonia [online]. 2011, vol.15, n.1, pp.93-114. ISSN 1851-0027.
The aim of this work is to establish a regional analysis of distribution of camelids motifs, documented in 49 rock art sites along different areas of western Córdoba Hills (Serrezuela hills, Guasapampa hills and valley, and south Traslasierra valley). The figure of this animal is important among all motifs and themes identified in the region. However is possible to defi ne seven types or designs that are differentially distributed between the areas included in the study. In this context, our research has allowed to identify the patterns of circulation of these design in the landscape and, in the same way, defi nite the social practices which activate and supported this transmission. So the presence of some camelids designs in the local rock art is an indicator of links and ties between the groups that occupying different areas in western Córdoba during the late pre-hispanic period (ca. 1500-350).
