Thispaper is a short review on the inclusion and use of experimentation as a methodology in lithic analysis in Argentinian Pampean archaeology. We review how different experimental approaches were applied, and present a synthesis of the current status of these studies. We highlight the role of experimentation as a starting point for other non experimental regional research. Also, we reflect on its pedagogical and communicational uses based on our practices.
