Abstract

ROSSI, Lucía. Psychologyin Argentine journals (CIRCA 1930). Anu. investig. [online]. 2005, vol.12, pp.299-304. ISSN 1851-1686.

The history of journals is considered at the same time, in order to get at once a simulteanous view of contrasting ways of conceiving psychology. Society of Psychology (1930-1968) insists on Bulletins and official University Journals on getting its activities known. Psychology is considered as a natural extension of medicals approaches, it is defined in medical words, and given a medical meaning. On the opposite, Cursos y conferencias of Instituto Libre de Estudios Superiores (1930-1965) is an open, plural, private journal. It works as an open forum for alternative discourses. It offers a complex context in which psychology appears in an original shape, as shows Anibal Ponce in education, and Jorge Thenon in psychiatry and psychoanalysis. G Bermann publishes in both Journals. After a great activity in 1942, the psychiatric movement gets institutional recognition as a formal university postgraduate degree while psychoanalytic groups get organized as a formal institution in a professional association. Both legitimated trends made psychological discursive productions decrease in both journals, mainly after the military coup of 1943.
