Resumen

RODRIGUEZ BIGLIERI, Ricardo; VETERE, Giselle  y  KEEGAN, Eduardo. Follow-Up of patients with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder treated with two variants of Cognitive Therapy. Anu. investig. [online]. 2007, vol.14, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-1686.

The article presents the follow-up at six months of patients with obsessive compulsive disorder treated in the context of UBACyT project P079. A single case design (A-B) between subjects with direct replication was used. Eight patients were randomly assigned to one of two different treatment conditions: 1) Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (Ex/PR); 2) Metacognitive Therapy (MT). Two patients in the Ex/PR condition dropped out after the third session. There was no dropout of patients under MT condition. Outcomes from both kinds of treatment show a significant improvement in obsessive and depressive sympthomatology after the interventions. These findings were sustained at the follow- up evaluations, suggesting that both treatments may be of clinical utility. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed, and further lines of investigation are outlined.

Palabras clave : Metacognitive Therapy; Exposure and Response prevention; Obsessive Compulsive Disorder; Single case design.
