Abstract

VETERE, Giselle. Functional Impairment And Quality Of Life In Patients With Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Anu. investig. [online]. 2008, vol.15, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-1686.

The article reviews papers concerning quality of life and functional impairment among Generalized Anxiety Disorder patients. The studies published in the last 20 years, are analyzed. The search was carried out in EBSCO, PubMed and Lilacs databases. In first place, the concepts of quality of life and functional impairment are defined. Then, the epidemiological and diagnosis criteria of generalized anxiety disorder are described. Afterwards, a resume of the results from the 13 studies showing the impact of the generalized anxiety disorder on quality of life is presented. Finally, the relevance of this findings and the need of investigate the impact of treatments on quality of life are discussed.
