We assumptive that the diagnosis in psychoanalysis is based on the delimitation of the symptom that matches with the clinical type. Nevertheless a clinical survey releases a variety of justifications that are set apart of the "diagnostic by the symptom". The work interrogates the bibliographical sources of this variety and the coexistence of the arguments that give living to the "presumptive diagnostic" from the texts of Lacan, focusing on the opposition hysterical neurosis -obsessive neurosis. In that trajectory we distinguee: - The structure of question of the neurosis. - The distinction from the statute of the desire. - The answers to the lack in the Other. - The lacanian formulations of the neurotic fantasy. -The hysteria as a discourse. Finally a possible articulation with the symptom is considered, putting the notion of symptom under review.
