Abstract

CASTRO, Fernando J.  and  PASSALACQUA, Alicia M.. Psiquic reality: Migration's impact through ego reality functions. Anu. investig. [online]. 2009, vol.16, pp.357-364. ISSN 1851-1686.

To address the research entitled "The Psychic Apparatus and vulnerability. Effects of migration on the psychic reality" we start from the concepts of reality and psychic apparatus from the early concepts of Freud to the present. Migration is considered as an event that produces emotional effects by leaving the familiar environments to begin in a new socio-cultural environment, putting the mental health at risk. We aim to identify the impact on the psychic reality of the individuals migrated and more specifically the possible changes in their identity and subjectivity. The study is exploratory, where the unit of analysis are adult individuals, men and women, between 18 and 60 years of age. The sample, which is intentional, is composed of 60 cases that will undertake Rorschach evaluation individually, with further application of the ESPA and E.F.Y.R scales to assess the potential risk of suicide and the current state of the Ego Functions Reality, respectively. The first results can be summarized as follows: a) there is a downward trend in the "Adaptation to Reality" Ego Function; b) The answers given in the first plate (who is related to identity) are of lesser quality in migrated individuals, and c) migrated individuals appear to have a lower psychic structure than those who belong to the control group.

Keywords : Migration; Rorschach; Psychic reality; Identity.
