This work proposes to compare the diagnoses found in the files of clinical histories of the Borda Hospital (previously Hospicio de las Mercedes) and of the mentally ill ones' National Cologne Dr . Domingo Cabred; that correspond to the period 1900-1930. In the Borda Hospital it there have been two models of clinical different histories: that of revenue of the patients to the internment and that of the room of pathological anatomy. There will be analyzed the designs of both clinical histories. A statistics is realized by the diagnoses found in the histories; and the used diagnoses are compared. It is tried to determine if a correlation exists among the paradigmatic notion of degeneracy in the field of the psychiatry and his application in the practices of the Argentine alienists of beginning of the 20th century.
