Abstract

DIAMANT, Ana. Mauricio Goldenberg, a path towards humanized psychiatry: Tracks for the insertion of the university psychology. Anu. investig. [online]. 2010, vol.17, pp.383-392. ISSN 1851-1686.

At the age of 80, Mauricio Goldenberg2 liked to introduce himself as a veteran psychiatrist who had devoted his life to the professional exercise and to change the ideology, the models and assistance sources for people's psychic suffering. His formal education was at Hospicio de las Mercedes in 1944. He has directed the innovation generator at Hospital Aráoz Alfaro, in Lanús, since 1956. He has also participated in the Instituto Nacional de Salud Mental since it was created. He continued at Hospital Italiano, in Buenos Aires, from 1971 until 1976 when he went into exile in Venezuela. Principal Risieri Frondizi called him to be a professor at the new Course of Studies of Psychology at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). His strong relations with the students were his most valuable experience: the Psychopathologist Service at Hospital de Lanús, which was one of the first labor places for psychologists.
