This paper aims to ground the peculiar process of signification in psychosis and to make a distinction between this and the signification in neurosis. The reference is the elaboration of S. Freud about the different mechanisms of repression and projection. Some present ways to carry out a differential diagnosis between psychosis and neurosis don't pay attention to the tight articulation of signification in symptoms.
