Abstract

This article attempts to reconstruct Winnicott´s arguments, according to which transitional phenomena can´t be reduced to just something emerges in the clinic. In this manner, and seeking a line of thought established by Freud, transitionality is a semantic mechanism culture. The transitional phenomena are beyond the ield of clinical psychopathology and extend its borders to the properly human. This paper is ar ticulated around three axes: a) culture and transitional space, b) transitional phenomenon, play and symbolization, and c) transitionality and tradition
