FERRARI, Liliana et al. Socio-organizational and socio-demographical variables of high impact in labor harassment processes. Anu. investig. [online]. 2013, vol.20, n.1, pp.93-101. ISSN 1851-1686.
This paper focuses on investigating the role of the 'environment variable' and workers' socio-demographic conditions in the prediction of processes of workplace harassment. Working conditions as well as its organization and the characteristics of the groups of workers are observed by some researches as elements that contribute to the emergence of situations of workplace harassment. These also differ from studies of precursors based on interactional sources and structures of personality. The objective of this paper is to present results related to the exploration and identification of organizational and demographic factors associated with the emergence of situations of workplace harassment. The following variables and their relationship with workplace harassment were analyzed: age, sex, educational level, type and size of organization, career, seniority, type of contract, self-labeling as victim of harassment and hierarchical position. A multiple regression analysis by the method of successive steps was used, detecting relationships in size of the organization, hierarchical position, type of organization, level of studies, work experience and age. We analyze these variables within a model which regroups them in enabling, motivating and catalysts.
